Hailey Schaefbauer, LBSW: Catholic Charities North Dakota (Bismarck, ND)
Running for NDFBSA Board Director at Large for a 2 year term
I am a LBSW with Catholic Charities North Dakota’s Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Services, serving expectant parents and adoptive families. For the past five years, I have gained experience working with and supporting children and families across North Dakota. My educational background includes bachelor’s degrees in social work and Catholic Studies, followed by a Master of Social Work in Macro Practice and Leadership from the University of Mary. My additional trainings include the Bridge to Wellness: Community Doula Training for Resilient Populations through San Antonio Birth Doulas. It is a gift to walk alongside my clients, witness their incredible strength, and partner with other dedicated professionals.
Jessica McBride, LAMFT: Northwest Behavioral Health Clinic (Williston, ND)
Running for NDFBSA Board of Director at Large for a 2 year term.
I am a Behavioral Health Counselor at Northwest Behavioral Health Clinic, where I work with individuals and families experiencing crisis and behavioral challenges. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and have been working in the mental health field for five years.
My clinical approach emphasizes the importance of understanding people within the context of their relationships, families, and broader systems. I believe that meaningful and lasting change occurs when we explore patterns, environments, and supports that influence the individual’s experiences.
Because of this, I use systemic and relational approaches to help clients strengthen communication, improve connection, and develop healthier ways of interacting with one another. I have training in evidence-based modalities including Functional Family Therapy, Trauma‑Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Brenda Wilson: Northeast Behavioral Health Clinic (Grand Forks, ND)
Running for NDFBSA Board Director at Large for a 2 year term
My name is Brenda Wilson, and I am proud to call the Grand Forks community my home. Although I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri, I have lived in Grand Forks for the past 14 years, where my husband and I are raising our two beautiful children. Family is at the core of who I am—we enjoy watching sports together, spending time outdoors, visiting local parks and the community pool, hosting family game nights, having backyard barbecues, and gathering with friends and loved ones. Professionally, my journey began in 2012 when I earned my B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. I am currently a Skill Integrator for the Youth Team at the Northeast Human Service Center, where I am honored to support children and families as they develop skills that boost their confidence, relationships, and daily functioning. I have proudly served as a board member with NDFBSA for the past year and spent two additional years on the committee. Being part of such a meaningful organization has strengthened my passion for service and deepened my commitment to supporting children and families. I am also pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of North Dakota, which helps me expand my knowledge and skills to better serve the community. My work aligns with my core values of compassion, empowerment, and community. I am motivated by a genuine desire to help individuals achieve their goals, discover their strengths, and find hope. Above all, I believe every person deserves support, encouragement, and opportunities to thrive—and I am dedicated to creating those opportunities in every space I serve.
Brooke Biederstedt, LMSW, Badlands Behavioral Health Clinic (Dickinson, ND)
Running for NDFBSA Board of Director at Large for a 2 year term.
I currently serve as a Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Supervisor at Badlands Behavioral Health Clinic, where I provide and support therapists providing FFT services to families. Prior to this role, I served in a program director position where I was integral in the development of statewide programming to reduce barriers for youth transitioning from foster care.
That experience gave me the opportunity to see family systems from the outside in. While supporting young people on their journey to independence, I often witnessed how they were also working to influence their family cycles, sometimes by changing them, and sometimes by carrying forward the strengths that already existed.
In my current role, I have the privilege of working with families earlier in that process, often when they are most vulnerable. One of the core beliefs that guides my work is that families are the experts in their own lives. They already possess the strengths and resources needed, sometimes they just need someone in their corner to support them. When working alongside families, it is about seeing the family as a whole and helping change the way the parts of their family connect.
